Journal 82: My Last Journal Entry

Yeah! I can't believe it's my last journal, and I can see the class has made 82 post, but I don't think I didn't do all of them, I failed on the poem parts, because I am bad at making poem. A message to the next year 8th graders: "You guys should beginning writing your journal in class, when the teacher gives you time, because once you get home, you won't have enough time to think and type journal at the same time.", you all should write it in class so that when you get home, you can just copy what you write at school and put it on the blog. That is how I do sometimes when teacher gives us enough time and I always finish more than 200 words, once I get home, I just copy what I write, and it's very fast. I think this journal is kind of helpful because it improves your writing and your imagination. You also can know your friend better by commenting on their blog. You can make up writing journal's habit and in the future, you can write a story really fast. What I don't like about this journal stuff is that you need to use internet blogger, you can't write on piece of paper, because sometimes you got problem accessing your computer, you can't type journal anymore. I think we should improve on this part.

Journal 81: In Defense of My Treasure

I think I would protect my treasure. It depends on who is the one who is trying to steel or destroy my treasure. It depends on the treasures value. If it is my parents who is trying to touch my treasure. I 'can't say "No" to them. Well, they won't do it most of the time. I think I did that because I don't like people touch my treasure except that person it's my best friend, but some treasure, even my family can't touch it, I don't think I would be able to give up protecting my treasure. How I will protect my treasure, I will first yell at people who touch it. If they continue doing it, I will push them away. If they are way to over, I will fight with them. My treasure is untouchable. I will never give up protecting my treasure, I will fight for it and I believe people will say this thing too. In the story I think Lemon Brown protect his treasure because he think that is very awesome because himself and his son both think this thing is very awesome. Lemon Brown will never give up on his treasure even the three gangsters is beating him up to death. I like his attitude.

Journal 80: My Treasure

For me, my treasure I think it would be my bed, because it's kind of like treasure to everyone. You protect it well, you always rely on it. I really protect my bed, because that is the place I spend most of my life time. I want my bed to be clean and comfortable, so I don't allow anyone to lie on it, unless that person is clean too. The things I am also treasure was my computer, it gave me most of my fun time, it solve my question on anything, like homework, game, etc. There was one time, my mother is trying to destroy my computer by ripping all the wire off from it, and I am really sad. My mother say I spend a lot of time on my "treasure" instead of with family. Talk about family, it is something to treasure too. You family gave you most of the support and no matter what they did to you, they always love you, except some other parents. I don't know, in the fairy tales, the step mother is very mean and ugly. I think my parent is the best. Also I think something to be treasure is my friendship, because when you are lonely, your friend always stay with you, but unless you find the true friend. If you find the wrong friend, that person will stab you in the back or blame anything on you if they have trouble. Friendship is good, but depends on what you chose.

Journal 79: My Background

My background will be that I was born in Taiwan and when I was little, my parents were busy the all time, so it's always my grandmother took care of me. Also I live in the country side, so if you need or want anything, you need to get it yourself and very far. This thought always keep in my mind, and sometimes getting what you want is hard because you live in the country side, no supermarket, no Seven-Eleven. When I move to the city and I found it's so convenient because you can get what you want by walking, cause Seven-Eleven and super market are close. Right now, I am moving back from city to country side again, but it's turning to be city, because people start taking away farmland, build big buildings. The scene I saw when i was young was all farmland and now it's all gone. Also when I was young, I have a lot of time to play and exercise. I turn a lot when I was young, but since I move to city, I stay home a lot because it's very dangerous to run beside traffic. I really miss the time when I was young because I don't have any pressure and all my family is healthy, I don't have any problem with anything until now. 

Journal 78: Style

       I think Toni Cade Bambara's style in "Raymond's Run", she like to use dialect in this story because when we read, we know about the personality of the main character. Dialect is speaking of the narrator, and sometimes narrator talks about themselves in the story. Like in Raymond's Run, Squeaky keep talking how awesome is her, like saying she is like Raymond's big sister even Raymond is older than her, she say this because she think she take care of Raymond's and protect him most of the time, which is true in the story. Also, she keep saying she run very fast, and keep telling reader that her classmates call her "Mercury", which is a god and that god can run very fast. She think she run fast because she always win during her life, she talk about during elementary school's sport day and the "May Day Program" about she keep winning the big prize every year. Which is also true things in the story, because her family could run very fast too. I think the only style I could find from "Raymond's Run" is that the writer use a lot of dialect in the story. I suggest people should read this story.

Journal 77: Slang

Example and meaning of slang words, the first one I will talk about is the word "Slang", this word means abuse. The second word is "Cool", it's describe something that is very good. Like we always use, this thing is cool. Also the word "Chill, it means to tell someone to calm down, like we use to say "Chilled out, dude", means to tell this person to calm down, it can also mean relaxing etc. Like we say "We are chilling at Sean's house". The common slang word we use "Dude", it can be use to refer to any person whether they are known by the speaker or not. Examples are "Dude, what are you doing?", and "That dude is stealing my car. "Booze", it means alcohol, it is pronouns funny and it looks cool. They also say nose, say "schnozz" very funny. I found a really good website talks about some slang word that people use most of the time. Like "idiot", "moron","third degree","Slut"(sorry for this one). Idiot came from a Greek word Itiotes was used to refer person who was a private individual. Moron also came from Greek word, Moron meant foolish or stupid. Third degree means to be thoroughly questioned, we all know what slut means.

Journal 76: Analogy

My analogy will be "To make someone in our class to tell truth, its like telling her to jump off building". I mean to tell this person to tell some truth which is impossible. Someone in our class likes to make lie about people like telling this person how bad is another person. It can cause misunderstand, and makes people hate each other. The truth is the person who keep saying how bad is someone and didn't tell the truth about the person is the one should get hate by everyone. It's because that person is not honest, for example, A is the person who always tell lies and A is a female in PAS 8th grader. B is the friend of A and C is the person who is hate by A and was the victim. A is friend with B but A hate C, B doesn't hate C and both of them don't really talk to each other. A want to make B hate C too, so A keep telling B how bad is C, but non of them are truth! That makes B think C is the bad person and B start to hate C. In the end A and B both hate C, but B hate C because of A, I think C will be a boy in our class, and A and B will be two girls in our class. A hate C, so A tell B to hate C. That is very bad and very disgusting act to A. Well, in the end, C is the one who got all friends and everyone hate A because A is tricking everyone to hate C, but B is falling for it. I hope B can understand the truth and get rid of A quickly. C person is best !!

Journal 75: Fighting Words

If someone insult my family, I will see how bad they insult my parent and do the next move. Like one insult my parent very badly, I would fight with him, if it's just comment, I just comment back to his/her parent too. It's better not to insult other people's family. No one can ever judge, comment or insult my family, only I can do them. If I heard someone does them they are so going to get insult very badly that they will feel very depress after all. There was one time my classmate insult my parent and I guess I am too harsh to that student, I insult him very badly which cause him to change another school. Another time is fighting, it happen in 5th grade at PAS, at that time I don't really speak any English and when I hit someone because that person insult my parent, I got all the consequences and that the person who insult me doesn't get any punishment. I get all the punishment because I don't speak English and I don't even know what that person is saying, and he is putting all the blame on me. I got mad and of course I got revenge back to him, it was after I start to know everyone in the class and all my classmates like me after all. That students end up change to another school when I was in 6th grade. I think people should defend themselves, and not just stand their. I don't really hit people at school, if  someone want to hit me, I just block their punch and laugh, pretend we are playing, even though the other person is serious. I thought fighting in PAS will get kick off so I never fight, but only use word to attack people unless they hurt me first!! 

Journal 74: Below the Surface

Hum...., I think people cannot judge people base on their look. You can't do this because you will always be wrong, unless you have some super powers. One thing I thought wrong was on Sean Von. When Sean Von came to this school, I thought he is a very serious guy, because he look very serious. I thought we weren't going to be friend, because I like people with humorous. Later on when I know in more, I found out he is a super funny guy and which we become friend. Also there was one time, I met a girl, she look very nice when you first saw her, but after few days, I found out she is a girl that likes to swear at people, betray friends and lie to people just to get friend. Anyways, that girl end up with no friend. I think people should not ever judge people base on look, because they might look nice, but actually they do things very mean, like stab you in the back. You never know if that person it's your friend, until you truly understand them. When I went to a new environment I will not act very active or very open. I will slowly get into environment and make new friends slowly. So people won't judge me very much!

Journal 73: OOPS!

The things happen that make me feel surprise, is when I take a test. It's like whenever I am taking a test and I thought I am going to do bad on it, because the test is very hard and I don't understand anything. The result came out good. In science class, I studied for a test and I thought I am going to get good grade on it. It doesn't end up well, because I guess I didn't study the main point of the test. The other things that I expected it turns well but it doesn't work. I have follow all the instruction it says and did everything it says. I am thinking it should have work and when I click the game and it's says error. I almost go rage. It also happen to me when I am taking a test. It's like I thought this answer is going to be this, but I keep thinking about if it is wrong, so I change it. The result came out and the right answer is the original one I wrote. That sucks. There is a lot of thing going on my life when I think it is this, but it always turns out differently sometimes it can harm me as well. Like sometimes I think this will turn well and it fail and almost make me sad. 

Journal 72: My tell-tale ending

It grew louder, and louder! The man couldn't take the pressure, so he went outside pretend to get something for the police, but he is doing something else. He found his old gun and a hatchet. First he want a police to follow him to the bathroom, the man open the water just to make noise. He walks behind the police and put his hand on the police mouth to cover his mouth. He take the hatchet and slice the police's head into two parts. He put the police's body in the tub and walk out alone. The other police look at the man and say :" where is my partner". The crazy man pick out the gun and shoot the police. The police's blood float wider and wider.The man is completely insane. He went to the old man's room and found there is someone standing in the dark. He walk close to the dark man. "Ah.....h!" the old man is standing there. The man is scared and try to go back outside, but the two dead police is standing behind him. One of the police has his head separate two parts, the other police has a bullet hole on his eye. The three ghost man stand around him and they rip off the crazy man's skin and wear it as a hat. The three dead man disappear, and left the dead man's body forever. The next morning everything is gone, the dead man, old man and two polices has gone forever.

Journal 71: Hints and Foreshadowing

First of all, I think dramatic irony means that when you watch a play or movie. You know something that the main character doesn't know. Like in ghost movie, you know there will be ghost in that place, but the main character always try to go there and look. Sometimes dramatic irony can be bad or good, sometimes it becomes a surprise in the story. In the story " The Tell-Tale Heart", the reasons we know why the man is insane because he say he is not insane. It's true, because insane people always say they are not insane. It's like you see these drunk people and they keep saying :" I'm not drunk~~~, let's go to another bar". Also the clue, because he keep making things up, but the old man didn't even do anything. He keep describe how bad is the man's eye, but the old man never say anything. The man says about he is thinking to kill the old man, but he didn't make decision yet. We will know that later in the story he will do something stupid. In the beginning of the story, I already know the narrator is mad, because he talk in a very weird way, and saying he is not insane. That is how I tell.
